“LOVERS’ REQUIEM” is loosely based on the framework of Romeo & Juliet for a uniquely tragic and brutal love story, told between the young successors of a Mexican cartel, our Capulets; and an Italian American mafia in California, our Montagues. Years of violence and destruction between the two criminal empires ignites the flames beneath the forbidden love, too lost in the thrill to see the cliff they’re rocketing towards. Locked in an eternal stalemate, the families fight desperately to preserve their legacy from each other, and the lovers threaten to ruin this precarious balance. Sparks will fly, secrets will spill, and bodies will drop as their love affair spirals out of control. This story DOES NOT romanticize the criminal lifestyle, rather it shows the gruesome truth through a mangled love story. For something as pure as love cannot thrive under so much blood.
